Digislide’s Digismart Miniature Projection Technology

Digislide Holdings Pty Ltd is the developer of Digismart, a miniature projection technology. Digismart is available for integration into proprietary devices by other manufacturers, licensing to global brands and purchase as a peripheral device. It is small enough to be integrated into hand held devices such as; cell phones, PDAs, GPS devices, portable gaming consoles, laptops and MP4 players.

Digislide’s, Digismart technology is based on a miniature (thumb-sized) wide-angle lens system. Digislide’s design protection covers their unique lens arrangements and use of solid state or filament lamps (the former largely eliminate heat end energy consumption issues). The miniature projection system can project detailed, full color 11 inch by 17 inch images. It is currently capable of producing a resolution of at least 640 x480 pixels. The current Digismart model has dimensions of 50 x 30 x 20mm for a stand-alone device, or 39 x 15 x 15mm when embedded into another product.

Digislide have been gathering awards and recognition including;

  • Nomination for the World Technology Award in San Francisco in July,
  • Naming by the Guidewire Group, one of the world’s leading global technology research firms, as one of its elite “global innovators” in March 2006.

Digismart is not commercially available yet but Digislide have reported that licensing negotiations are advancing rapidly with about half a dozen of the world’s major technology companies.
