BenQ Launches W500 3LCD Projector for Home Theatre Enthusiasts

BenQ have launched their W500 3LCD projector which they have targeted at home theatre enthusiasts. 3LCD technology uses three LCD panels to produce an image. It has advantages such as; a brighter picture, more natural colors and greater resolution.

The BenQ W500 is a 720p high definition projector with 1,100 lumens of brightness and a high 5,000:1 contrast ratio. Conversion of standard and other definitions is handled by a HQV (Hollywood Quaity Video) processor ticking along at 10 bits/s. To smooth out any “jaggies” along the edges of moving objects, BenQ utilize their Multi-Dimensional Filtering (MDDF) technology which examines four fields rather than the common two. To make setup easy lens shift for squaring up the image on the screen is achieved using a joystick. There are also a number of quick select projection modes.
