Epson, Optoma and Mitsubishi Ranked Top 3 Manufacturers in North American Projector Brand Suvey

Epson, Optoma and Mitsubishi were ranked as the top three (3) projector manufacturers by Pacific Media’s 11th annual Associate Dealer Survey. The survey, covering 144 dealers, asked dealers to rank their suppliers on 25 aspects of support, products and after sale support. Some aspects were weighted higher (more important) in determining an overall composite scores for manufacturers.

Although the Pacific Media survey is of dealers, some of them supply directly to the public making some of the publicly released findings of direct interest to end consumers:

  • Good Price/Performance – Optoma, Mitsubishi
  • On-Time Delivery – Sanyo, Hitachi
  • Product Quality/Reliability – Mitsubishi, Eiki
  • Products – Optoma, Mitsubishi
  • After Sale Support – Epson, Mitsubishi

A couple of interesting market predictions made dealers in the survey are:

  • market share of 1080p resolution front projectors will grow to 41% in 2007
  • front projectors with wireless connections for Media Center PC installations will reach a 63% attach rate in 2007
