September 11, 2007JVC LT-37X987 and LT-32X987 – 37 and 32 inch High Definition LCD TVs with Clear Motion Drive II (CMD)JVC’s LT-37X987 and LT-32X987 High Definition LCD TVs are 720p (1366 x 768) high definition with a high contrast ratio of 800:1, a response time of 8msec and a wide viewing angle of 178º. Both models come with a built-in ATSC tuner and Clear QAM. They are also VESA Compliant for wall mounting
JVC’s Clear Motion Drive IIJVC’s LT-37X987 and LT-32X987 HD LCD TVs come with the second generation of JVC’s Clear Motion Drive (CMD) namely Clear Motion Drive II. The technology was developed by JVC to reduce blurring of moving images. To do this Cler Motion Drive uses a frame doubling driver and motion interpolation. When motion is detected in images, CMD II doubles the frame rate inserting an interpolated frame between originals giving a smoother progression and reducing blurring. First generation Clear Motion Drive only detected horizontal motion. CMD II detects image data from more than 8,000 dots in a frame to create a pixel and calculate the movement from one frame to the next. This process is repeated for all two million pixels in a frame (19.2 trillion dots evaluated per second) to interpolate movement in any direction. As one can image this requires some serious video processing power which reveals the logic behind use of the JVC’s fifth generation D.I.S.T. (Digital Image Scaling Technology) engine on the JVC-exclusive 32-bit Genessa chip. Genessa chipJVC’s Genessa chip, a 32-bit CPU processor, provides all image processing, noise reduction and color management technologies. From every source, D.I.S.T. (Digital Image Scaling Technology), onboard the GENESSA chip detects and up-scales the data (SD and HD) to display at full native resolution. Gamma ControlAnother of JVC’s video processing technologies on their GENESSA chip is their Motion Adaptive Dynamic Gamma algorithm. The algorithm detects areas of darker data, even in motion preserving the tonal details and graduations in those areas so that they remain rich with detail and never appear muddied. 5 Point Color Management SystemJVC’s 5 Point Color Management System algorithm compensates for potential color range limitations with a pin-point sampling process that tells the GENESSA chip which colors need to be softened and which colors toned down. It anticipates which colors typically interfere with others and proactively preventing them from doing so. JVC’s Noise Reduction TechnologyNoise reduction an important factor in producing a good picture as High Definition TV magnifies picture distortions. JVC have developed a suite of noise reduction technologies including:
AudioFeatures of JVC’s audio package include:
Preset ModesThe JVC LCD’s have five video status modes (standard, game, theatre, dynamic, TheaterPro and D6500K) to provide quick select optimization for different viewing environments and video sources. There are nine preset video aspect modes to find the best presentation mode for a particular video source: Full Native HD, Cinema Zoom, Panorama Zoom, Full HD, Slim, Cinema, Panorama, Full and Regular modes.
