HP EN5000 and EW5000 Digital Media Receivers Bridge the Gap between Computing and Home Entertainment


The HP Digital Media Receiver enables consumers to browse their favorite digital music and photos stored on their personal computers using only a standard remote control. The HP Digital Media Receivers, the and, provide access to digital content from a PC on a user’s wired Ethernet (EN5000) or wireless 802.11b (EW5000) home network. The HP Digital Media Receiver provides an out-of-the-box solution for converting a HDTV (or stereo) into a platform for enjoying what for most consumers is a rapidly growing archive of digital content including video, images and music stored on various PCs.


HP EN5000 / EW5000 Digital Media Receiver

Without any effort from the user, the HP Digital Media Receiver will automatically discover and aggregate all digital music and photos from one or many networked PCs and presents them in an simple-to-use TV menu. The HP Digital Media Receiver comes with composite video, S-Video and RCA audio connection options.

HPs digital media receivers provide the capability to:

  • view video files on a HDTV
  • view digital pictures (JPEG, GIF, BMP and PNG) on a HDTV
  • print digital images on a PC-connected printer
  • browse and listen to your digital music (MP3 and WMA) on any TV and stereo
  • sort music files into playlists – M3U, PLS and RMP playlists are supported
  • combine music and images to create multimedia slideshows
  • control multiple HP digital media receivers from each other

Minimum PC requirements include the Microsoft® Windows® Me, XP Home or Professional operating systems, 128 MB RAM, 50 MB disk space and a 10/100Base-T Network Card. HP Digital Media Receivers come with a one-year limited warranty.
