Mitsubishi 73 inch WD-73734 65 inch WD-65734 and 57 inch WD-57734 1080p DLP HDTV Review

The Mitsubishi 734 series 1080p DLP HDTVs have a mostly common specification with the 733 models. However, Mitsubishi have added to technologies which improve contrast ratio – a primary contributing factor to picture quality.

DarkDetailer – because a DLP rear projection system is used, Mitsubishi have been able to include a dynamic aperture system to control projection lamp brightness and improve the contrast ratio over four times, providing a wider array of colors and shades for more detail (greater depth) particularly in dark scenes.

DeepField Imager – provides constant adjustment of brightness and contrast for optimum settings in all areas of on-screen images allowing it to optimize scenes containing bright areas and shadows. Analyzing 135 sectors of each image in real time, the DeepField Imager dynamically adjusts for areas that are too high or low in contrast and/or too dark or bright for the best balanced picture in every scene.

Two other technologies Mitsubishi have added for the 734 series 1080p DLP HDTV are:

PerfecTint – provides the ability to adjust the tint of six separate colors independently of each other and separately for every input.

SharpEdge – is Mitsubishi’s latest edge-definition signal processing system for enhancing the rendering of horizontal and vertical edges for sharp images.
