Mitsubishi 736 Series DLP 1080p HDTV | 73 inch WD-73736 and 65 inch WD-65736 Review

The Mitsubishi 736 series of 1080p DLP HDTVs reviewed consists of two models; the 73 inch WD-73736 and 65 inch WD-65736. Both models have identical features to the recently reviewed Mitsubishi 735 series DLP HDTVs with the addition of; DeepField Imager for optimum contrast, NetCommand IR for on-screen control of analog-connected audio visual electronics and a front panel HDMI connection for easy connection of devices such as games consoles.

DeepField Imager

The DeepField Imager dynamically optimizes brightness and contrast. It analyses 135 sectors of each onscreen image in real time and using advanced algorithms determines the best contrast and brightness settings for a balanced picture. It compensates for areas that are too high or low in contrast and/or too dark or bright.

NetCommand IR

NetCommand IR allows on-screen control of analog-connected AV products (eg. DVD player). Users are able to input what products are connected and teach the Mitsubishi HDTV what the IR (infrared) commands are for each. Life then becomes simpler with the one remote controlling other devices through the HDTVs NetCommand system. The Mitsubishi DLP HDTV comes with a 9 foot IR emitter cable that features 2 IR blasters for 2 controllable audio/video components and a male mini-jack connector that plugs into the back of the television. Netcommand’s IR blasters can also be used to control scheduled recordings of other connected audio/video devices.
