NEC’s ImagineX IW77 Interactive Whiteboard is an interactive whiteboard designed specifically for educational environments to increase student attention and retention. The ImagineX IW77 whiteboard is an advanced tool for teachers to create more interaction between the students and with their learning material.

The IW77 needs to be combined with a projector to make a complete system. A bundle available combines the IW77 with a NEC WT610E DLP projector and a WT60WM wall mount. The IW77 is however, compatible with any NEC projector. The screen size is 77 inches diagonal (61.6 W x 46.2 H inches or 1956mm diagonal, 1565 W x 1174H mm)

The NEC’s ImagineX IW77 interactive whiteboard provides the flexibility to annotate over any application allowing teaching to take place directly from the whiteboard over a structured information base. Students can focus on the teacher rather than note taking as files complete with annotations can be saved as files for students to take home for later revision. Alternatively, Web collaboration can be utilized with classroom materials being available for to log in and view. It also makes it simpler for students who miss lessons to catch up.

Using the mouse functionality of the whiteboard allows the user/teacher to control the PC based application directly from the electronic whiteboard using a stylus pen. Integrated PowerPoint presentation control allows almost instantaneous use of PowerPoint files in slide show mode. To protect and provide surface durability the whiteboard surface is made from a porcelain enamel skin.

Three interactive tools are available for educators to control the computer and course content.

• SCRAPBOOK Application – turns the image projected on the electronic whiteboard into a digital workspace for recording notes, importing screen shots, saving scrapbook (in nature) files and using layers to enhance or sequence the presentation of lesson content.
• Desktop Palette – which allows quick selection of major functions such as annotation or a pop-up keyboard
• PowerPoint Palette – for annotation and navigation of slide presentations.

Annotation tools available include pen, shapes, highlighter, eraser, redo/undo and save buttons allowing a wide variety of additional creative input on top of the underlying base content projected on the electronic whiteboard.

Bundled Software

As well as the interactive whiteboard NEC provide interactive software (both PC and MAC versions) to assist in the gathering, organization, preparation, presenting and sharing of computer content. Handwriting recognition provided via Microsoft Office software.
NEC provide a two year limited warranty on hardware and software
