May 6, 2009Qualcomm MEMS Mirasol Display Technology Headed for LG Electronics HandsetsIt’s been a couple of years since we looked at Qualcomm’s iMoD (Interferometric MODulation) reflective display technology with MEMS structures as its basis. As explained in our article, iMoD has its roots in biometrics, the study and mimicking nature’s processes and structures. Qualcomm has been developed their iMoD display technology into their mirasol display product.
The technology has reached maturity with Qualcomm announcing that it has an agreement with LG Electronics to begin the development of mirasol enabled handsets. Excellent visibility in bright daylight and low power requirements were most likely primary incentives for uptake of the technology. 0 Comments »No comments so far.
