Samsung Series 5 (B540) Full HD LCD HDTV Review


Samsung’s B540 models differ only slightly in specification from our recently reviewed B550 models. The B540 model LCD displays have a 60,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio compared to 70,000:1 for the B550 models. Contrast ratio is one of the bases for image quality. The 540 models include the 46 inch LN46B540, 40 inch LN40B540 and the 32 inch LN32B540.


Samsung Series 5 (B540) Full HD LCD HDTV

All 540 models deliver the exceptional detail that comes with Full HD (1080p) which is a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. This resolution gives you all the impressive detail of high definition being able to handle television shows broadcast in 1080i and BlueRay DVDs. Through scaling by the video processor the 540 will handle 1080p, 1080i, 720p, 480p and 480i video inputs.

The 540 models can be distinguished from their sibling Series 5 models by their Touch of Color design begins with a deep piano black bezel that fades into distinct chrome that finishes as gray highlights.
