Samsung C4000 | 720p HD LED LCD HDTV Review

Samsung’s C4000 series of 720p HD LED backlit LCD HDTVs for 2010 come in a range of smaller screen sizes suitable for PC monitor use including; the 32 inch UN32C4000, 26 inch UN26C4000, 22 inch UN22C4000 and the 19 inch UN19C5000. The LED edge backlighting delivers an impressively high dynamic contrast ratio of 2,000,000:1 translating to brighter whites and deeper blacks.

The Samsung C4000 series has the same specification to the recently reviewed C5000 models except for;

  • 720p HD vs 1080p Full HD
  • 2,000,000:1 vs 3,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio
  • No AllShare for network DLNA connectivity to compatible Samsung mobile phones/devices

Read our review of the Samsung C5000 series LED LCD for a detailed overview of other features.

If you are interested in exceptional contrast, deep black levels and bright whites then it’s worth considering the C8000 and C6800 series have Samsung’s new Pinpoint Dimming technology which brings local dimming to edge-lit LCD HDTVs for the first time. To understand the differences between backlighting arrangements read our comparison of edge lit and full array backlighting LED LCDs.
