The LG LE5500 series of Full HD (1080p) LED LCD HDTVs has all the advantages that come with LED backlighting and its close associate local dimming. The backlighting is of the best kind, full array, and have a remarkable dynamic contrast ratio (strong underlying factor of picture quality) of 5 million:1, thanks to the LED backlighting and local dimming. Other highlight features for this series are; Wireless 1080p readiness, near elimination of blur by TruMotion 120Hz and the Internet sourced entertainment opportunities presented by an Ethernet connection and NetCast Entertainment Access.

The series includes three models; the 55 inch 55LE5500, 47 inch 47LE5500 and 42 inch 42LE5500. Importantly for those who intend to use their HDTV for gaming the LE5500 models have a leading edge response time of 2.4ms and a games mode for optimizing performance for gaming.
