Optoma GT360 GameTime 3D 2500 ANSI DLP Projector Review

Optoma’s GT360 is a DLP projector optimized for gaming. It has an excellent lamp power of 2500 ANSI lumens which will provide a bright projected image in even bright conditions. The contrast ratio which is an important factor in quality is a high 3000:1 (static: full on/full off). With a short throw (0.9:1) ratio the GT360 can project a 150 inch diagonal image from about 9 feet. Combined with 3D, a large projected image filling the visual field can produce a unique immersive gaming experience. Also noteworthy is the presence of twin, onboard 5W speakers which obviate the necessity for external speakers.

Optoma GT360 GameTime Gaming Projector

The Optoma GT360 Game Time Projector closely matches the specification of the recently reviewed GT720 apart from a different native resolution (SVGA – 800 x 600 pixels) compared to WXGA (1,280 x 800) -720p. With scaling, the GT360 will handle video sources up to 1080p resolution. For the best picture quality it’s best to match the native resolution of the gaming console and the GT360 is a good fit with a Wii gaming console.

It is important to note that Optoma projectors cannot be used to display 3D TV broadcasts or 3D Blu-ray discs. Optoma projectors may support these applications in the future but will require additional hardware at extra cost.
