 Samsung’s C8000 series LED LCD HDTVs feature 3D playback, Full HD (1080p) and Samsung’s new technology, Pinpoint Dimming, which brings local dimming previously only available with full array LED backlighting to edge-led LED LCD HDTVs. The Samsung C8000 series consists of three models; the 65 inch UN65C8000, 55 inch UN55C8000 and the 46 inch UN46C8000.

 Samsung Series 8 LED LCD includes the B8500 models (55 inch UN55B8500 and 46 inch UN46B8500) as well as two B8000 models (55 inch UN55B8000 and 46 inch UN46B8000) . The Samsung 8500 models have the best performance of any Samsung LCD HDTV and feature full array backlighting which allows local dimming which seems to supercharge black level (without blooming) and contrast ratios. The B8500 has a 7,000,000:1 contrast ratio bringing it into the performance range of plasma HDTV.  Samsung’s B640 Series 6 LCD HDTVs deliver all the outstanding of Full HD resolution combined with a high contrast ratio of 80,000:1 for image quality. These models have the advantage of 120Hz Auto Motion Plus to provide sharper video playback of fast moving on-screen action typical to sports broadcasts.
 Samsung’s B540 models differ only slightly in specification from our recently reviewed B550 models. The B540 model LCD displays have a 60,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio compared to 70,000:1 for the B550 models.
 Samsung’s Series 3 LCD HDTVs are the entry level models of Samsungs LCD range. Every model features all the detail provided by 720p High Definition (HD). Models range from 19 to 32 inches and suit a smaller room or a desktop position. Notable features are the game mode, SRS TruSurround HD (virtual surround sound) and the reasonably fast 6ms response time (for an LCD).
 Samsung’s 2009 LCD HDTV range sees the extension of the trend for HDTVs morphing into media servers with the Media@2 package boosting content connectivity with Internet@TV, DLNA, USB 2.0 (Movie) and a Pre-loaded Content Library. Contrast ratios (the foundation of image quality) continue to improve and there have been significant decreases in power consumption over earlier models.
 Samsung’s Series 4 consists of entry level HD (720p) resolution plasma HDTVs. All models have a superb 2,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio and Samsung’s Wide Color Enhancer 2.
